The Kyouei-Gama (Kyouei Kiln) fired ceramic pipes in Tokoname for three eras, from Meiji (1968-1912) to Taisho (1912-1926) and Showa (1926-1989). At this renovated kiln, enjoy a conversation with the owner with a cocktail in hand.

Sweet potatoes baked nicely and slowly by using charcoal in Tokoname’s special ceramic baking pipes boast plenty of sweetness. In the summer, be sure to try the Hiyashi Yaki-Imo (chilled baked sweet potato) or Yaki-Gela, which is a baked sweet potato topped with gelato!
A local favorite, the Kaisen-don Teishoku (¥2,340), is a bowl of rice brimming with a variety of sashimi. The fish ingredients vary from day to day, but all are fresh and tasty.
The Bay Lunch (¥2,890) is also popular.
